What the Needs attention alerts mean

All plansBeginner2 minutesUpdated August 15, 2026

The Needs attention bar on your dashboard lists problems that pause part of your account until an admin fixes them, like a disconnected QuickBooks connection or a failed subscription payment. Click the bar to see each alert with a link to the page where you fix it; alerts clear themselves the moment the problem is resolved.

WorkZen watches the parts of your account that can silently break: connected integrations, card payment processing, your subscription, and webhooks. When one of them needs a human with admin access, a Needs attention bar appears at the top of your dashboard.

What can appear here

AlertWhat it meansWhere the fix is
Integration disconnectedQuickBooks or Zoho Books lost its authorization and syncing is pausedThe integration's settings page, click Reconnect
Card payments disabledStripe has stopped card payments on your account, usually pending verification infoYour Stripe integration page, then Stripe itself
Subscription payment problemA WorkZen subscription payment failedSettings > Billing, update your payment method
Webhook disabledA webhook endpoint failed 10 deliveries in a row and was switched offSettings > Integrations > Webhooks, fix the endpoint and re-enable it

Each of these pauses something real: paused syncing means your books drift, disabled charges mean clients cannot pay you by card. That is why they get a dedicated bar instead of a regular notification.

Reading and acting on alerts

Click the Needs attention bar to open the alerts panel. Each alert shows what broke and two actions: an arrow that takes you straight to the page where you fix it, and an X to dismiss it.

Alerts are states, not messages. You never mark one as done; WorkZen re-checks continuously and clears an alert by itself the moment the problem is gone. Reconnect QuickBooks and the alert disappears on the spot.

Dismissing and getting back to alerts

Dismissing an alert snoozes it for 7 days. It moves to a Snoozed section at the bottom of the panel, where you can bring it back anytime with Restore. If the problem still exists when the snooze ends, the alert returns on its own.

Once every alert is dismissed, your dashboard bar disappears completely. The snoozed alerts stay reachable from Settings, which shows a dismissed-alerts bar for as long as any snoozed problem remains unfixed.

Tip

Dismiss is for "I know, and it can wait", like a webhook for a system you are decommissioning anyway. For anything touching money or syncing, fixing beats snoozing: the problem does not pause while the alert does.

Alerts clear themselves when the underlying problem is fixed. If your accountant reconnected QuickBooks or a failed payment went through on retry, the alert resolves on its own.
No. Dismissing only hides the alert for 7 days. If the problem still exists after that, the alert returns. The only way to clear an alert permanently is to fix what it points at.
They move to a Snoozed section at the bottom of the alerts panel, and they are also reachable from Settings, which shows a dismissed-alerts bar even when your dashboard is clean. Click Restore on a snoozed alert to bring it back.
