How to close your WorkZen account
Go to Settings > Close Account and walk the confirmation steps. Your account is scheduled for deletion with a 30-day grace period, during which you can download your data or recover the account, then everything is permanently deleted.
Sometimes a business closes, merges, or moves on. Closing your WorkZen account is deliberately a slow, explicit process, because "I deleted six years of client history by accident" is not a support ticket anyone wants to write.
Before you close
- Download your data while everything is still live.
- Cancel subscriptions first if you want the remaining time; closure issues no refunds for unused subscription time.
- Downgrading beats deleting when the business is pausing rather than ending: the free Zen plan keeps your data alive at no cost.
The closure flow
Go to Settings > Close Account. The flow makes you slow down on purpose:
- The warning: what deletion means, and that your data is kept secured for 30 days as a protection against accidental deletion.
- Acknowledgements: you confirm each consequence individually, permanent deletion after 30 days, no refunds, and the grace-period terms.
- Company name confirmation: type your company's name to make the intent unambiguous.
The 30-day grace period
After you initiate closure, for 30 days:
- You can still download your data.
- You can recover the account and carry on as if nothing happened.
- Your data stays secured and inaccessible to others.
After 30 days, all company data, clients, jobs, estimates, invoices, and user accounts, is securely and permanently deleted.
Want immediate deletion instead of the grace period? Email goodbye@workzen.io and the request is processed right away.
